歌曲”True”是英国乐队Spandau Ballet的著名作品，收录于其在1983年发行的同名专辑中。该歌曲一经发行便全球大热，连续四周保持英国单曲排行榜第一名的成绩，也成为当年热卖的单曲第六名，在20余国家亦取得不错销量。

这首歌曲使得Spandau Ballet乐队红极一时，也使他们在1983年秋季美国Billboard百强歌曲榜取得第四名的好成绩，在美国乐坛也留下了难忘的回忆。

Spandau Ballet乐队队长Gary Kemp是在自己从小长大的父母家里写下的这首歌曲。这首流行抒情歌曲在最初发行的专辑中长达6分钟之多，歌词中的一部分表达了对“摩城王子”Marvin Gaye的致敬，在该歌曲录制完成一年之后，Marvin Gaye逝世。

歌曲还表达了自己对心仪歌手Clare Grogan柏拉图式的感情，其中的部分歌词改编自Grogan赠予Kemp的小说《洛丽塔》。

后来接受采访时，Kemp说出了这首歌里面的故事，自己想写一首情歌送给心爱的人，但是羞于把自己内心的真实想法写到纸上。

Kemp said, “True” became a song about writing a love song. “Why do I find it hard to write the next line? I want the truth to be said?” Because I didn’t want to write it down—because there’s nothing more embarrassing.
